Engravers Hospitality

Engravers is one of the most exclusive fully inclusive premium experiences at The 152nd Open. With on course views overlooking the 15th hole, you will always be at the heart of the action. Before or after your meal, you are ideally placed to get out amongst the crowd and walk the course. You will be treated to the finest cuisine throughout the day including Champagne and canapés and a four-course à la carte lunch.

The Golf

NORTH BERWICK

Regarded as one of the top 100 courses in the UK, North Berwick has been challenging golfers for 190 years. This classic links course is a battle against the North Sea winds as much as the fairways, the bunkers, the design and, yes, the famous wall that blocks the green on the 13th hole, known as Pit. And then there’s Redan, the world’s most copied hole. A relatively blind approach – the top of the flag is visible, the green isn’t – is challenge enough, but then the green also slopes away from right to left, and is guarded by a large bunker on the left, and three pot bunkers on the right. Oh, and a hidden dip means you’ll want to hit the green with your tee shot.

GULLANE NO1

Carved into the ancient links turf with smooth-running greens, pot bunkers and wispy grasses Gullane No. 1 is a unique challenge for all golfers. With every hole having its own distinct character, Gullane No. 1 is both memorable and enjoyable, and undoubtedly one of Scotland’s finest and most scenic links courses. Golf has been played over the links since the 1600s, yet the architect of Course No. 1 remains unknown. In 2018, Gullane hosted The Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open, won by Brandon Stone played over a Championship composite course featuring 16 holes from Gullane No. 1 and two holes from Gullane No. 2.

WESTERN GAILES

Perhaps one of the lesser known Ayrshire courses, Western Gailes is a wonderfully varied challenging and narrow links, sandwiched between the north Ayrshire coast and a railway line. Undulating fairways, fast greens, sand dunes, bunkers and burns that meander across the fairways keep golfers on their toes. As for the winds, Western Gailes appears to have been named by someone with a dark sense of humour.

AIlsA - TRUMP TURNBERRY

Identified as an ideal spot for a course in 1892, the Turnberry Golf Club opened in 1902, with the resort opening four years later. Turnberry’s reputation was truly cemented though in 1977 when the Championship Course at Ailsa hosted The Open, and the battle between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson made it what many regard as “The Greatest Major Ever Played”.

The Hotel

THE BALMORAL

For over a century, The Balmoral has found a home at Edinburgh’s most prestigious address, No. 1 Princes Street. A landmark Rocco Forte hotel set in the heart of Scotland’s capital city, The Balmoral combines stunning views and warm hospitality with world-class facilities to create the perfect urban retreat. Standing proud since 1902, the historic building’s majestic clock tower still dominates the Edinburgh skyline. Its clock is set precisely three minutes fast, to ensure residents never miss their train.
